No osteo in the water!
Without any pun intended, aquatic osteopathy is absolutely not osteopathy in water...
Of course it is still osteopathy, all the fundamental principles of osteopathy remain true in aquatic osteopathy or even “even truer” or more present. But when it comes to testing, reasoning about injury patterns, or treatment, everything is different.
Aquatic osteopathy is a concept in its own right that I practice on a daily basis and teach since 2006.
Of course, there are many ways to work in water when you are an osteopath: with a nose clip, by passing the patient's head underwater, by adapting tabletop techniques to the aquatic environment, etc. All these practices undoubtedly have their interest but they differ greatly from the concept of aquatic osteopathy which has proven itself for over 20 years.
